2000 A's Season Recap  -  2001 A's Season Recap

The Giambi situation...my thoughts.

Have fun in NY Jason.  Hope all those $$$ make you happy.  I'm not mad you went for the money.  I'm mad you lied, you drug it out so long, you made the A's look bad.  The A's will survive.  They are more important than one player, even if that player is Jason Giambi.  I can tell you I am glad the A's didn't resign Giambi.  They cannot afford the money they were offering.  They cannot put all the hopes and dreams of this team in one player.  We still have the triplets, the best  young left side of the infield in the game, and one of the best minor leagues in baseball.  We'll be ok A's fans.  Keep coming to the park, show the team we believe in them, that we know they can make it with out G.  I know I for one will be there for those A's/Yank$ games.  This will give us A's fans an even better reason to boo the team that spends more money than more teams can dream about.

I have been an A's fan now for as long as I can remember... I grew up with Carney Lansford, Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco, The Eck, Stew.  World Series Championship, The Bash Brothers, three consecutive rookies of the year. The good old days.  But just because my team has changed, doesn't mean my loyalities have!  I am now a even bigger A's fan! 2002 marks my third year as an A's season ticket holder, and I couldn't be more proud to support the team I have loved since I was a little girl.

So now my loyalties lay with the new guard of the A's future.  Players like: Eric Byrnes, Mark Mulder, Jermaine Dye, Miguel Tejada, Eric Chavez, Tim Hudson, Barry Zito. Now with two years of playoff experience under their belts.  The A's minor league teams are also stocked with talent like , Esteban German and Bert Snow.  So much so, that the A's won organization of the year, two years in a row.  The have earned four straight minor league player of the year awards (Ben Grieve, Chavez, Adam Piatt, and Jason Hart).

My favorite A's players??

     Mark Mulder
